Glossy Text With Reflection

We will learn how to create a glossy text with reflection in this tutorial. Nowadays this is been used in many web 2.0 sites and its really very easy to create. You can use this type of glossy text on your website banner or logo text, on your link text or for many other purposes. This is really handy and in this tutorial we will discuss quick method for creating them. So lets start.

Step 1

Open photoshop and in a new file, type your text on a white background. This effect works better with a fat-bold font so try selecting something fat.

Step 2

Make the first letter of the text a bit bigger and change the color to orange. This will make it look attractive.

Step 3

Double click the layer icon and open the layer style feature or you can go there by clicking with the right mouse button and choose Blending Options. Select the following settings.

Drop Shadow: multiply: black color, Opacity: 30, Angle: -47 Distance: 9, Spread: 2, Size: 18

Gradient Overlay: Blend Mode : Overlay, Opacity: 20, Gradient: Black to white. (as default)

Stroke: Size: 7, Opacity:30, Gradient: dbdbdb
