Beautiful Text Outlines Using Photoshop

Learn how to create beautiful text outlines using photoshop. This is really easy with few steps and you can easily make attractive text effects.

Step 1:

Type your text and keep it on its own layer.

Step 2:

Hold CTRL and click on the text layer to make a selection around your text. Choose Select > Modify > Expand and set it to 2 pixels. You can try different to get various effects.

Step 3:

Click the background layer and add a new layer between background and text layer. Select the color you wish to use for the inner part of the outline and fill the selection with your foreground color.

Step 4:

Select the Background layer and click the New Layer icon to make another layer under the previous layer. Choose Select > Modify > Expand and set it to 1 pixel. Choose another color to be the external part of the outline and fill the selection with that color. Press CTRL+D to deselect.

Step 5:

You can add some glow or shadow below the text to make it look better.
